There's a little impromptu flea market north of our village that operates every Friday and Saturday. We decided to see if we could sell any of our vegetables there We took 2 bushels of sweet corn, a 5 gallon pail of green beans, a peck each of big sweet onions, cucmbers, and summer squash, setting up our table at 8:15. Set out small baskets with 2 onions, 3 summer squash, a little over a pound of green beans, and 3 cukes for a dollar a basket. Corn was 4 ears for a dollar.
Corn was the big draw...picked fresh this morning, and most people who bought corn, bought something else. We were pretty well sold out by 10 o'clock, but stayed until 11, bringing home 6 onions and one basket of green beans. We reminded people that we would have U-pic thornless blackberries and fresh vegetables at our place in a couple of weeks. Had to give out our phone number.
So I have a happy hubby, knowing that he can overproduce everything, make money on it, and not have to can or dehydrate it!
