Yep. Turns out that a woman(not LDS) my wife knows is a serious prepper. She told my wife that quite a few people said they arent storing food because they know where she and her husband live.

It always jabs right to the center of my sensibilities when I hear the "I'll just come to your place" remark after I approach people about being prepared. Especially if the comment comes from members. Everything's a big joke until the hurt comes calling. What do they think we have arms to keep AND bear for?

Grey man?
You blend in with the crowd... dress plain enough, act plain enough, etc... and you pretty much become invisible... (or rather, no one takes any notice of you).
You look and act like one of the sheeple.
At the mall; you got out of a Prius and you're wearing skinny jeans... you're not a threat.
In the grocery store: you have long hair, a ball cap with a peace sign, cut off shorts and sandals... you're not a threat.
Etc, etc...

One of the video clips for the take down sniper rig I have, shows a "metrosexual" guy (with skinny jeans) ride up to building several stories tall... on a moped... and kind of "half skip and half prance" his way inside.
Once on the roof, he removes the school sized day pack and has the rifle together in less than 40 seconds (with suppressor), takes the shot and a few moments later is skipping back out the front door to ride away on his moped...
It seemed very gay, but I found something about it very appealing anyway.
Obviously something is wrong with me... but so long as I don't "act out" while wearing the skinny jeans, I should be OK, right?

Grey Man theory doesn't say you have to look like anyone in particular. No prius/skinny jeans/prancing necessary. The deal is, you don't look like anybody. There is nothing about you that stands out. Nothing to attract attention in any way - you are invisible.
I got to practice this a little when we had to bug out during the recent Colorado Fires. At the KOA, we weren't evacuees, we were just a family camping. At the storage unit, I wasn't urgently moving all the worldly belongings we packed out, I was just some guy with a trailer load full of his crap. At the National Guard checkpoints, I wasn't a prepper wierdo wanting to go make sure his land was secure, I was just one of the many evacuated homeowners, just wanting to check on the livestock he left behind.
Apart from cargo pants and an unnoticed bulge of my IWB, there wasn't any difference between me and any other guy.

I'll tell the board what I told my ward's assembled Priesthood two weeks ago (and I might have read here): "If you show up on my doorstep in an emergency, you had better knock on the doors with your elbows, because your hands are full of supplies or tools."
It got a chuckle; but it also got the point across.
