I still think that this ebola scare won't amount to much, although I am preparing just in case. Anyway, when talking about it with someone at church yesterday, an interesting question came up. If there is an ebola outbreak and everyone is staying home out of fear for their life, will you share food with people who come by and ask? I know that we've discussed the issue of food storage sharing ad nauseum on this board. But ebola throws a new angle into it. If you're afraid of catching a plague, will you be willing to risk interaction with people long enough to share food? Remember, ebola can spread really easily, as evidenced by the nurse in Texas who contracted it despite protective gear.
And food will definitely become an issue, because even if you are willing to go to the store for food, the truckers may not be willing to deliver it to the store, the supermarket workers may not be willing to show up at work, etc.

If I decide to self quarantine, there will be notice outside the house warning people away. If I self quarantine then people who want to talk to me can yell from the sidewalk. Nobody is coming inside. We aren't going outside.

I guess you could leave some tuna cans on the front porch...

And the neighborhood cat population would thank you, if they could ever work out how to use a can opener.
That reminds me of part of the problem with the ebola epidemic in Africa; there are a lot of feral dogs in Africa. Feral dogs will dig into the shallow graves of ebola victims. Dogs don't get sick with ebola, but they are carriers.

Makes me ponder if there is more than one meaning for Matthew's verse....to gain life....etc...
Just how much will I do or not do to cling to this mortal body.
i admit I am in no hurry:-)

Like Mirk said. If we are in quarantine. That door is not opening for anyone including family members until they have met the 21 day rule or whatever it is in self quarantine outside my house in their tent. I might try to slip some food out a door when no one is around

I'm thinking if there's a government quarantine, then no one will be coming to my door, if its a self imposed quarantine, then as others have mentioned, visitors can yell from the sidewalk and I may leave something at the door step for them to retrieve. If there is no quarantine, and stores are still open, then why are they at my door at all? I will help those I can, especially if prompted by the Spirit, but if things are running along as normal, they should be visiting the Bishop, not me. Having said all that, I would think that things would have to be pretty bad, before truckers quit coming to work.

If you see holes in my door that look like they came from the inside, DO NOT STAND IN FRONT OF THE DOOR!
I have probably shared some of my ammunition. ;)
Have FUN!
