First Presidency letter?

I wasn't at Church last Sunday (24 August 08) and my wife was late, however my mother-in-law told me that in her ward a letter was read over the pulpet (she thinks from the 1st Presidency) that basically, in her understanding, said "get your food storage". Anyone heard anything about that?

I was kinda thinking my mother-in-law misunderstood. I've talked to others who were at Church on time, plus I visit this board (and others like it) and was guessing that if something like that was read, I would have heard about it before today. Thanks!

However, just such a letter was read throughout the church in 2002. I haven't heard if revoked.
