A mysterious stomach virus has sickened scores of residents at an assisted-living facility on Long Island.
Residents of Sunrise Assisted Living in Dix Hills began experiencing extreme nausea and diarrhea last week.
Relatives of those residents said at least 20 of the 80 seniors at the facility have become sick, including four who had to be hospitalized.
All activities have been cancelled, and residents have been told to stay in their rooms while the home is disinfected.
A spokeswoman for Sunrise said the safety measures will remain in effect until the virus is no longer active.
