My doctor just recommended this for my son and I was wondering about experiences with it? I like that it lasts a lot longer than regular deodorants.
I have been using it for the last few days and it definitely works longer than my regular brand. I heard you have to keep it dry except when you use it. I also noticed that it broke apart when I dropped it. It really looks and feels like a rock...

This is a year supply of deodorant for $4.43 plus shipping.
Any other tried and true BO remedies?

We just store a variety of regular deoderants/anti-perspirants.
Swimming is good. We also store biodegradeable baby wipes if we're not able to shower.
Maybe salty water? I don't know...

I have used them in the past and really liked them. I was thinking about storing them glad for the reminder.

I've used these for 30+ years. (a different brand)
(I was part of the 'natural' generation, I call it my "granola" stage) I initially found out about it at the original 'little split log building' that housed the "Mother Earth News" in 1973 in Hendersonville NC when I was about 16 years old. At the time it was only in the form of a 'crystal "rock" and not in the 'stick' form. (which was a little more messy)
I have 'tried' more 'conventional' deodorants from time to time but especially being female I don't want to use 'aluminum' and increase the chances of breast cancer.
Since the 'salts' have to make direct contact with skin (pores) I have wondered all these years how it would work for those with underarm hair??
So I'd be interested to know your experience if he tries it??
Thank you,
Dena
PS,,, you should be able to get them at your local health food store and not have to pay shipping!!

I don't want to use 'aluminum'
I buy a brand called "Herbal Clear" from Wal-Mart. Aluminum free, and works really well, at least for me. I have also tried "Tom's", also aluminum free and also at Wal-Mart, but I found it to be goopy and I didnt really like it.

I highly recommend the crystalux brand of natural deodorant. I stopped using the "store" stuff with the aluminum in it a few years ago when I heard it was bad. I tried a few things and the crystalux has been the best I've used. My family are heavy 'sweat'ers but it doesn't smell. And I don't get as hot as I used to since the aluminum isn't clogging my natural heat releasing pores.
It really can be used anywhere on the body, including feet, and doesn't stain like some of the mineral deodorants do. I just love it and couldn't live without it. I buy it in bulk. :)
