Hello,
As this is my first post I would first humbly apologize if I make a mistake which I oft do...I'm reminded of the quote "I myself am made up entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions." Please forgive me If ERR. My intentions are good. <O:p

I just wanted to bring attention to the forum about an old method for creating fuel. The method is termed "Fuel Wood Gas." But wood is not the only source that is used. Essentially what happens is you heat wood (or some carbon like substance e.g. rubber, coal etc.) in an enclosed space and tap off the gas vapors emitted from the process. The gas you tap off is highly flammable and will easily run a generator, automobile etc. Find a WiKi link that explains the process here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wood_gas).

Also after reading several posts here I’m quite convinced and do agree that no amount of physical preparation will suffice if we do not serve God first as we read in Matthew (as taken from lds.org)<O:p

35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, atempting (http://scriptures.lds.org/en/matt/matt/22/35a) him, and saying, <O:p></O:p>
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? <O:p></O:p>
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt alove (http://scriptures.lds.org/en/matt/matt/22/37a) the Lord thy God with all thy bheart (http://scriptures.lds.org/en/matt/matt/22/37b), and with all thy soul, and with all thy cmind (http://scriptures.lds.org/en/matt/matt/22/37c). <O:p></O:p>
38 This is the first and great acommandment (http://scriptures.lds.org/en/matt/matt/22/38a). <O:p></O:p>
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt alove (http://scriptures.lds.org/en/matt/matt/22/39a) thy neighbour as thyself. <O:p></O:p>
I believe that when we put God first everything else will fall into place in our lives. <O:p></O:p>

Thank you for the interesting post, and the link. A friend told us about his family using wood gas for all their tractors on their farm in southern Florida when he was a kid. He had a small gasifier, but gave it away before we had a chance to see it. He has drawn diagrams for my husband, but we want more complete plans before trying to build one. Would appreciate it if you happen to find anything more on this.
