Has anyone ever made their own seed-starting mix? I bought some at the store and thought it seemed expensive. I can't seem to find a recipe on the internet. Anyone have the formula?

I make my own at a fraction of the mixes in the store. Equal parts peat moss, vermiculite and top soil. After the seedlings have their true leaves and I transplant them to larger pots I add compost or a little organic fertilizer to that mix.
I use the jiffy seed pellets and transfer the seedlings to pots. A problem that can occur when making your own seed starter mix is the pH can be off and kill the seedling just after the appearance of its first true leaf.
